This year, hubby decided to keep our staycation location a surprise. It’s gonna be a little different given that I was 4 months pregnant. There were some clues the night before though. He packed our ducky float into the luggage. I guessed it would be somewhere with a private pool…
As we headed towards Sentosa, I was trying to shortlist the hotels with private pools. Villa at Amara Sanctuary Resort, RWS Villa or Capella??? Hmm.. And as we took the shuttle bus to Sentosa Cove, I realised it was going to be W Hotel Singapore!
W Hotel Singapore is a 5-star luxury hotel situated at Sentosa Cove, at the Eastern tip of the island. It is next to the marina and surrounded by beautiful landscapes and yachts.

Very soon, we checked into 1 of the Away King Guest Rooms at level 1 of the hotel with a terrace and a private plunge pool.
Lights in the room can be adjusted to several preset combinations according to your mood! If I remembered correctly, this was the ‘romantic’ setting.

Here’s our private terrace and plunge pool. You can see that our rubber ducky was already floating idly on the pool before I went in.
The water was very cold. Perhaps it’s because we were just next to the sea. At the side of the pool, there’s an area for us to sit and enjoy the jacuzzi.
Do note that guests can somewhat look into your terrace from the reception at level 2 as you can see from this photo. So, watch your behaviour! Haha!

We had a slightly difficult time finding our room actually. After we took the lift to level 1 of the building, all we saw was a gym, a spa reception and a glass door to the outdoor swimming pool.
It was only after approaching the staff for help that we found out that we had to walk through the spa reception area, through the brown door opposite, to go to our rooms! Perhaps the signages could be more visible.

The swimming pool of W Hotel Singapore is another highlight of the hotel. According to their website, it is 1 of the largest outdoor pools in a Singapore resort!
I like it that the pool is of asymmetrical shape, unlike other typical rectangular pools. Floats are also provided for guests to laze on.
The hotel converts 2 of its restaurants into the breakfast buffet area in the morning. There was quite a good variety of food as you can see in those photos above. Guests were free to walk around the 2 restaurants as different kinds of food were located in both restaurants.
I understood from hubby that the room was slightly more expensive than usual because our wedding anniversary this year fell within the Chinese New Year period. There were also more tourists on holiday during this long break. If you are looking for a staycation in Singapore, you can consider W Hotel Singapore for its idyllic location and modern facilities!
